The girl who has made a career out of gracing magazine covers and editorials in super sexy bikinis and lingerie, is making a crossover.

Pulse supermodel Nell Robinson, who was declared ‘The Body’ byArena magazine, is set to launch her swimsuit line, Bang! at Caribbean Fashionweek (CFW) scheduled for June 7-11 in St Andrew.

Between breaks from a shoot in New York City, Nell proudly declared that she was thrilled to be making advances in the world of fashion beyond being in front of the camera. Continue reading

Bob Marley 67th Bday today. A look back…

Today, Bob Marley would have turned 67 years old. There will be several events around the world marking the reggae legend’s birthday. In December 1976, Marley was involved in a tragic incident in which he, his wife Rita, manager Don Taylor, and a friend, were shot at his Hope Road home. Reporter Leslie Miles, then working with the Daily News, was at the house that evening. He recounts the episode in an interview with the Observer’s reporter Basil Walters last week.

ON December 3, 1976, two days before the ‘Smile Jamaica’ concert organised by Prime Minister Michael Manley, tragedy struck in the country’s capital.

Reggae star Bob Marley, main act for the Heroes Circle event, was shot at his Hope Road home.

A friend of mine sent me the bill on the left yesterday. Please click to read bill and see the NWC’s response to what the K Factor and X Factor charges are on your water bill. It was timely since today the Observer published the article below about a private water company wanting to raise clients bills in St Catherine up to 132%. Yes I wrote 132% but if JPS can get away with that type of billing why shouldn’t the water companies.

Jamaican Film on the Rise w/Better Mus’ Come

THE highly anticipated Jamaican movie, Better Mus’ Come — a coming of age drama set in Jamaica’s turbulent 1970’s, against the backdrop of the Cold War — is scheduled to debut on local cinema screens on October 13.

This movie is a dramatic telling of the Green Bay Massacre, ghetto life and political deception of that time. Miss Universe Contestant Prizes

YENDI Phillipps last night placed second in the Miss Universe pageant, creating history as the highest ever finish by a Jamaican in that contest.

Phillipps served early notice of her historic feat when she was named in the final 15, then the final 10 and outshone early favourites Miss Puerto Rico and Miss Ireland to place in the top five.

The contest was won by Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete.
